After a crazy 449 days, Miranda Gibson, the 31 year old brave activist, from Tasmania, was forced to leave her platform in The Observer Tree, located in a forest near Hobart, due to a suspicious bushfire reaching only a scary 1km away from her. This passionate nature lover has been at her perch in the 60 metre eucalypt tree since December 2011. Even though she has reluctantly left the tree for now, she has not ruled out returning to her post and vows to continue on her campaign to stop logging in high conservation value forests. Check out her blog for some amazing photos and find some more information about her cause. Where would our world be, without people like Amanda, standing up for what she beleives in?   http://observertree.org/

From my tree top perch I have watched the sun rise over this forest hundreds of
times. Yet, each day, the moment when the sun first touches the tree tops never
fails to mesmerize me. Every day is different. I want to share with you just one
of these many beautiful mornings. From the moment the shadows of trees begin to  emerge out of the mist in the pre-dawn light, to the sun making an appearance
above the mountains and casting light across the valley…
